TechHui
TechHui is a social network for scientists, techies and new media enthusiasts in Hawaii. Our state has a lot of interesting people and companies working on exciting technologies, but often they don't know about each other. TechHui was created to connect the technology silos and facilitate communication on topics ranging from biofuel research and software development to Act 221 and technology oriented entrepreneurship.
Java Community Process
Ikayzo team members are active contributors to the JCP. We sit on the expert groups that defined, or in some cases are currently defining, the Java Standard Platform (JSE), the Java Content Repository, Java Modules, Scripting for the JVM, the Pluggable Annotation Processing API, The Swing Application Framework and Scientific Units in Java.
Opensource Contributions
BeanShell: Free Open Source Java Source Interpreter
BeanShell is a small, free, embeddable Java source interpreter with object scripting language features, written in Java. BeanShell executes standard Java statements and expressions but also extends Java into the scripting domain with common scripting language conventions and syntax. BeanShell is a natural scripting language for Java.
Simple Declarative Language
The Simple Declarative Language provides an easy way to describe lists, maps, and trees of typed data in a compact, easy to read representation. The simple and intuitive API allows you to read, write, and access all the datastructures using a single class. For property files, configuration files, logs, and simple serialization requirements, SDL provides a compelling alternative to XML and Properties files. Implementations are available for Java and .NET with more languages on the way.
Local Community Work
Through our TechHui community site, Ikayzo assists local organizations that provide free computers to homeless shelters and schools. We also offer free classes and lectures to qualifying nonprofit organizations and schools subject to availability. Classes are offered in software development and design. Most free classes are introductory level. Intermediate and advanced levels are available for a reasonable fee.
